| Overview |
Kikaijima in Kagoshima Prefecture is a miraculous island that emerged around 100,000 years ago through repeated coral reef uplifts. The RIHN SceNE Project has been fostering environmental communication through science, art, and community co-creation, and has held "Coral Day" events with island residents since 2023. In 2026, as a new initiative, we will launch the "100 Views of Coral Day" photographic documentation project. On that day, everyone on the island will be invited to capture the same day from diverse perspectives. From the collected photographs, 100 images will be carefully selected and presented as a collective memory of the island seen through 200 eyes, visualizing a dialogue between local communities and science through multi-perspective memories. |
