2017年11月22～25日にチュニジアにて行われた 1st Euro-Mediterranean Conference for Environmental Integration において、地球研プロジェクト「サニテーション価値連鎖の提案 ─地域のヒトによりそうサニテーションのデザイン」のメンバーが発表した論文がBest paper awardを受賞しました。賞は、学会が定める10のトピックス（本賞はTopic 4. Environmental Engineering & Management）からそれぞれ1件、次の4点を基準に選出されるものです。
- Originality and newness of contribution
- Appropriate application of methodology
- Relevance to environmental integration
- Effective communication of the central ideas of the work
