Background and Objectives | The great on-going progress of the Towards International Nitrogen Management System (INMS) Project launched in October 2017 (https://www.inms.international/) stimulated the development of the South Asian Nitrogen Hub (SANH) Project started from January 2019 (https://sanh.inms.international/). The sequence of successes has encouraged Japanese researchers contributing to the INMS, and they finally obtained a chance to initiate national nitrogen management research in Japan. That is the Towards Sustainable Nitrogen Use Connecting Human Society and Nature (Sustai-N-able or SusN) Project at the stage of one-year feasibility study by March 2022 funded by the Research Institute for Humanity and Nature (RIHN), Japan. SusN is aiming to develop as a research-oriented project involving both the interdisciplinary approach with natural, social, and cultural sciences and the transdisciplinary approach with other stakeholders related to food culture, education, local governments, and new way of nitrogen use like ammonia as fuel. SusN emphasizes collaboration and networking with relevant activities worldwide, of course, including INMS and SANH. We would like to propose a workshop to share us the research plan of SusN and the experiences of all the projects and to discuss freely to elaborate the research plan of SusN with special emphasis on future collaborations with the projects to address sustainable nitrogen use and environmental conservation locally, regionally, and globally, engaging stakeholders. | Program: |
