After the Industrial Revolution, production and consumption actions of the humancontinued spreading, and those impacts on environment were enlarged to derive global climate changes and biodiversity losses which can change whole earth ecosystem. We must change past actions to adapt for a fluctuating global environment, and to enable sustainable development. The RIHN project named Coastal Area-capability Enhancement in Southeast Asia(AC project) has been conducting inter-disciplinary field studies in coastal zone in Thailand, Philippines and Japan, based on the understanding that the coastal zone in these areas can represent fluctuating environment and high bio-cultural diversity area. In this workshop, we will discuss and compile the ways of the transdisciplinary studies to promote community actions which have good balance of utilization and cares of natural resources based on the results of AC project.
