Reception of a Visiting Researcher based on an agreement with the United Kingdom’s Arts & Humanities Research Council (AHRC)(SALES, Blaise)

SALES, Blaise
March 1, 2023 – June 30, 2023
PhD Student, University of Leeds
Research Title:
Investigating Ecological Aesthetics and the Embodied Mind in Contemporary World-Literature

Blaise’s research examines literature's role in capturing the social dimensions of sustainability and the lifeworld. This fellowship will allow her to make use of NIHU's inter-university network to consult resources at Nichibunken and Minpaku as well as at RIHN. Blaise will try to connect literary portrayals of place and personhood with the 'embodied materialism' of place-based, living knowledge systems, with special insight provided by RIHN's transdisciplinary approach to ecological knowledge.
