Director-General
Research Institute for Humanity and Nature

Thank you for your continued understanding and support for the research activities of the Research Institute for Humanity and Nature (RIHN).

At RIHN, we carry out open recruitment for Incubation Studies (IS) and Feasibility Studies (FS) twice a year (spring for April start and fall for October start) in order to request a wide range of research proposals from the academic community with the aim of developing them into research projects. Usually, at this time, we would be starting open recruitment of Feasibility Studies starting in October, but we have decided not to have an open call for Fall 2021.

This year is the final year of the 3rd Mid-term goals and plans period (2016-2021) of the National Institutes for the Humanities, Inter-University Research Institute Corporation, and the 4th Mid-term (2022-2027) is to begin next fiscal year and new research programs and themes will be set for the new term. We have come to the conclusion not to pursue the call under the current RIHN research programs that are set under the 3rd Mid-term goals and plans, therefore the next open call for Incubation Studies and Feasibility Studies starting in April 2022 will be held in December 2021 under the new research programs and themes set based on the 4th Mid-term goals and plans.

Thank you in advance for your understanding and continued cooperation.
