Profile of Lecturer
Mr. Kentaro Suzuki (Miroku Store, Kyoto Organic Action) He runs Miroku Store, a mobile vegetable shop on a deliver-to-order basis, in Nantan City, Kyoto. He has been long involved with distribution of organic vegetables in Kyoto Prefecture, and established a strong network with organic farmers in Kyoto’s mountainous areas. In 2016, he along with his like-minded comrades, who are now the core members of Kyoto Organic Action, organized an event called Hyakusho-ikki(百姓一喜)or happy peasant revolution to understand and celebrate the transitioning phase of organic farming in Kyoto with a surge of new farmers. An unexpected number of participants determined him to undertake setting up a new and alternative distribution system of organic vegetables across Kyoto in 2017.
