A New Research Project Launched

On April 1, 2018, a new five-year Research Project “Research and Social Implementation of Ecosystem-based Disaster Risk Reduction as Climate Change Adaptation in Shrinking Societies” was launched.

Message from Project Leader, Dr. Takehito Yoshida

Our project explores the multi-functionality of Ecosystem-based Disaster Risk Reduction (Eco-DRR) approaches that take advantages of reducing the risks of natural disasters as well as a variety of ecosystem services, during the next five years of full research period. Research in the RIHN is attractively characterized by its collaborative atmosphere, in which diverse people from different disciplines and social sectors work together for the common research goals. We would like to make our project as the one that is achievable only in the RIHN and stretches out from the RIHN by benefiting from the strength of the institute. Yoroshiku-onegai-shimasu!
