This program is called the Environmental Culture Creation Program, but what does
“environmental culture” even mean?
Explaining this first requires stating the basic concept of this program. There is no doubt
that environmental problems have become a pressing issue on a global scale. It is crucial
to provide “scientifically correct knowledge” to solve these problems. However, simply
providing correct knowledge does not immediately lead to changes in behavioral patterns
and values in people and society. The cultural perspective is at the core of bringing about
changes in people’s lifestyles and values.
Environmental culture creation, the aim of this program, is the process in which science
and culture set aside their respective “absolute correctness” for the time being and engage
in mutual dialogue, which will lead to the creation of new values.
