要 旨
Hainan Island, located in the tropics, had the highest incidence of malaria in China before 2002. The malaria incidence rate was higher than 1,000/10,000 in Hainan Island in 1955. Most of the malaria cases were caused by Plasmodium falciparum or Plasmodium vivax or by a combination of both species. Historically, the malaria endemic area was located in the forested areas in the central and southern parts of the island, where Anopheles minimus and Anopheles dirus were the main vectors. Major specific interventions in Hainan were mass drug administration (MDA), targeted drug administration (TDA), insecticides-treated mosquitoes nets (ITNs), and indoor residual spraying (IRS). Malaria incidence declined in these years and no local malaria cases were reported from 2012 to now, except 7 local cases in 2015. From 1955 to now, not only did malaria prevalence change greatly, but also nature and society. Non-specific interventions, such as social and economic development, also had an i mportant effect on malaria. What are the major reasons for the decline of malaria from 1955 to 2016 in Hainan Island? What lessons can we get from the past? What should we focus on in the era of post-malaria elimination in Hainan Island?
