Our project is organized into five research groups, an executive group, and an advisory group.
The role of each group is as follows

Group 1: Environmental alteration by humans

Revealing the effects of anthropogenic environmental alteration on loss of biodiversity and food web changes.

Group 2: Ecology of pathogens and their hosts

Clarifying the dynamics of koi herpesvirus (KHV) and the ecology of its host common carp (Cyprinus carpio).

Group 3: Infection process and ecosystem effects

Revealing the infection process of KHV and the effects of the KHV disease on ecosystem functions.

  Group 4: Economics and culture

Clarifying losses caused by the KHV disease in terms of ecosystem services, economics and culture,
and the compensation process for those losses.

    Group 5: Feedback

Clarifying the effects of those losses on subsequent environmental alteration by humans.

    Executive

Coordinating the activities of each group to reveal the interactions between anthropogenic environmental alterations,
outbreaks of pathogens and changes in human life. Also applying our model to other infectious diseases.
