We, as part of the SRIREP project, managed by the Research Institute for Humanity and Nature (RIHN), are committed to identifying ways to solve the problem of mercury pollution caused by artisanal and small-scale gold mining (ASGM) in developing countries (especially Indonesia and Myanmar). ASGM uses mercury in the gold extraction process, which spreads water and air pollution to surrounding areas and poses serious health risks to the population. We are working tirelessly with local residents to reduce mercury pollution and create alternative livelihoods aside from ASGM.

In our everyday lives, we too are also affected by mercury pollution. However, we believe that the seemingly impossible task of solving such environmental problems can be achieved by everyone pooling their wisdom and working together. We produced this comic to convey this message to everyone and to help raise awareness of the dangers of mercury.

This book contains an important message that we want to think about together with everyone around the world: "Choices for the Future". We hope that this comic will catch people's attention and be read by a wide audience.
