Research Topic:Enhancing Community Capacity for Sustainable Island Resource Governance: Analyzing Stakeholder Roles and Perceptions in Coastal Conservation and Tourism in Indonesia

Dr. LUKMAN, Kevin Muhamad is a Lecturer for the Master of Environmental Sciences and Master of Sustainable Tourism at the Graduate School, Universitas Padjadjaran, Indonesia. His academic expertise lies in social-environmental studies, particularly on ecosystem services, and community perceptions, with a strong focus on interdisciplinary approaches to promote sustainable development. His current research interests encompass small island sustainability, blue carbon ecosystems conservation, and the development of alternative destinations for sustainable tourism.

During his stay at RIHN, Dr. Lukman will collaborate with Associate Professor Jun Yasumoto and Professor Ryuichi Shinjo of University of Ryukyu (ex. PL of LINKAGE Project) on research addressing groundwater management and sustainable tourism on the small island of Wangi-Wangi, Indonesia. He will also engage actively with the LINKAGE Project team on topics related to groundwater, coastal ecosystems, and community capacity building, through tours of academic conferences, interviews, and lectures.
