Landscape and natural history
This talk will try to illustrate 'natural history' and landscape in Britain by describing the history of our landscapes and our attitudestowards them. Like Japan, Britain has a wide range of landscape types depending on climate and underlying geology. Human activity can be traced back almost 10,000 years to the time when humans re-colonized Britain after the last glacial retreat. Almost nothing remains untouched but now we actively strive to conserve semi-natural habitats and the biodiversity that goes with them.

We plan to have a party after the seminar. If you want to joint it, please send an e-mail to by 7th of February.
If you have any questions and comments, please do not hesitate to contact to you.
