[Research Roundtable]
Technology, Machine, and Imagery of the Future: Environment where there is robots

Date & Hours: Friday, 13, December, 2019, 13:30 - 15:30
(Previously we announced the date as on 16th, but it has been changed to on 13th.)
Place: Incubation Room, Research Institute for Humanity and Nature, Kyoto( →Access)
Organizer: Joint Research Project “‘Fudo’-nization of Advanced technology: How to imagine plausible future of human-computer interdependency” (PI: Terukazu Kumazawa, RIHN) supported by Toyota Foundation Research Grant “Co-production of New Society by Humanity and Advanced Technology”
Language: English
Aim: Environment consists of humanity and living and non-living things. When we think about our future, it is certain that non-living machine and technology play crucial role. How are robot and technology involved in and affect future environment? Although such kind of question is normally discussed in terms of ‘hard science,’ it is also the problem of culture —inasmuch as the environmental problem is the problem of culture. This research round table, focusing on the cultural dimension of the technology and future, will investigate the plausible way to argue and critique the role of advanced technology in the future from the view point of “Fudo”-nization.
