21st CEIDS Research Seminar
The 21st CEIDS research seminar will take place on the 6th of August at the CEIDS satellite office (near JR Osaka Station). Dr. Damien Giurco of Institute for Sustainable Futures (ISF), University of Technology Sydney will give a lecture on wide topics regarding sustainable resource futures.

Abstract:
Associate Professor Damien Giurco will present an overview of the research being undertaken at the Institute for Sustainable Futures, University of Technology Sydney which is currently celebrating its 15th anniversary.The themes covered in detail in the seminar include:
– participatory development of scenarios for mineral and energy futures
– quantitative modelling of resource production and environmental impacts
– industrial ecology and wealth from waste metal recycling
in addition other areas at the institute will be mentioned
– pathways to ecodesign for consumer products
– linking technology, information and consumer behaviour: water & energy smart metering
– solar thermal technology; barriers to decentralised energy uptake
