Microwave sample digestion system model7295S (O.I. Analytical)

This instrument uses microwave energy to heat samples. A sample placed inside a microwave-transparent vessel (e.g. Teflon) with a reagent for decomposition (e.g. nitric acid) is heated rapidly. Inside a sealed vessel, the temperature and pressure are elevated and the sample is digested or dissolved in a short time.

This method has an advantage over the conventional method using a hot plate because of extremely rapid digestion.

  • Organic samples:
plants, biological samples, plant oil, milk products, polyester products, etc.
  • Inorganic samples:
riverine sediments, soils, sludge, waste water, environmental water, ores, metals, marls, fly ashes, etc.
