The plasma asher is used for sample preparation for stable isotope analysis of biological sample, farm and marine products, foods, etc.
Oxygen gas introduced into the evacuated chamber is excited in the high-frequency electromagnetic field to generate oxygen plasma. The sample is processed with oxygen plasma. Oxygen plasma ashing is a low-temperature method, therefore it can keep loss of inorganic material lower than the conventional method using an electric furnace. Moreover, it has the advantage over the conventional method because of the higher recovery rate. |
