| Pilot study areas will be selected within each of these major regions. Although rigorous up-scaling (aggregation) from study areas to regions may not be possible, inferences will be made concerning the probability of effects within each region. This statistical approach will also provide some cross-comparisons between regions. Future efforts may allow our results to be mapped globally at different resolutions. | |
